A couple of weeks ago we tried out Shibori — Shibori is a resist dying technique. Traditional shibori has multiple ways to fold, sew, loop, or wrap fabric before dying. It is commonly done in an Indigo vat, which we love because that makes this plant based and biodegradable. The whole process uses a whole lot of old school chemistry and, for us, many elements of surprise! As a result, I’ve had a some dyed fabric ready to get used up so here's how I made a little bag for holding some of my projects. You can also use this for a lunchbag or picnics!
We recently had a zoom birthday and costume party to attend. Besides gathering tons of props from all around our house, we also made a few accessories that featured a custom print of the birthday girl herself. Eva is modeling her accessory here. You could easily do this with letters or shapes too to celebrate birthdays, graduations, or other holidays.
