Tips, Tricks, and Deadlines for Shopping and Shipping in the 2024 Holiday Season

We feel you and want to ease your worry this season when you shop R+D. Below are all the tips, tricks, and deadlines that will help make sure your season is bright!

Knowing What’s in Stock

We made a few improvements to our website in 2023, including a handy little notice on every single listing that tells you if an item is ready to ship, low in stock, requires production time, or is currently out of stock. As you add things to your cart, you’ll know right away if you need to hurry to complete your order or if you’ve still got some browsing time. 

Pick It Up!

Local to NYC? Visiting during the holidays? We have a series of pick up times that you can choose from. Not coming to NYC until December? You can still order in November, ensure nothing goes out of stock, and choose a pick up appointment well into the future.

We’re setting up shop at the Union Square Holiday Market again, and if you’ve ever visited you know it can get crowded. Make sure you get everything you need by ordering ahead and we’ll have it ready to go!

Local appointments are also the way to go for all you last minute and middle of the night shoppers: order before 7am and you can pick it up the same day.

Gift Wrapped and Delivered

Need to send a gift ready-to-go? Add gift wrap to your order and send it straight to their door! A personalized note is included!

Get It Fast!

Typically orders are shipped on the next business day: we do our best to get your order into the hands of the USPS so it can begin its journey to you as fast as possible. At check-out, you’ll be able to choose to ship things as a first-class package or a priority mail package (for that extra umph of speed!). Every order is shipped with tracking so you'll know exactly when it arrives.

Don’t Delay!

For the 2023 holiday season, we're using the recommendations from the USPS to create a few shipping deadlines. You can always order after the dates below and you may still get your items, but it is up to factors that are out of our control. We suggest you err on the side of early to be safe!!  

	Saturday, November 11, 2023: Veterans Day Any orders placed November 10 after 12pm EST through November 12 will ship on Monday, November 13 as Veteran's Day is a Federal Holiday.
	Thursday, November 16, 2023: Custom Orders for Hanukkah  As custom orders take production time, place your order for any custom items you want to arrive before the first night of Hanukkah by 8pm EST on Thursday, November 16.
	Thursday, November 23, 2023: Thanksgiving Any orders placed November 22 after 9am EST will ship on Friday, November 24 as Thanksgiving is a Federal Holiday.
	Thursday, November 30, 2023: Orders for Hanukkah  Orders that need to arrive before the first night of Hanukkah should be placed by 8pm EST on Thursday, November 30.
	Monday, December 4, 2023: Custom Orders for Christmas and Kwanzaa  As custom orders take production time, place your order for any custom items you want to arrive before Christmas and Kwanzaa by 8pm EST on Thursday, November 16.
	Thursday, December 18, 2023: Orders for Christmas and Kwanzaa  Orders that need to arrive before Christmas and Kwanzaa should be placed by 8pm EST on Thursday, December 18.
	December 24, 2023: Last day for pick up! Order online and pick it up at the Union Square Holiday Market! All pick up orders for the same day must be placed by 7am EST to ensure we can have it ready for you! Make sure to check the appointment times listed with each date (we close early on Christmas Eve!).
